CPA Group’s commitment to quality and ongoing professional development of our staff ensures we maintain our reputation as a provider of quality and elite and as an employer of choice for our staff.

We understand that professional staff are driven to ongoing training and development and this translates to an elite and motivated workforce.

Recently a major training initiative was developed in Western Australia by our Perth-based Operations Coordinator (Health & Medical), Samantha Pearce. Demonstrating how passionate the team at CPA Group are about maintaining a high standard of professionals

In conjunction with our client, Samantha coordinated a development day for medical staff from both CPA Group and our client who work together to provide medical support in remote areas across WA – some of the participants are shown below with Samantha (far right).

Samantha organised a stellar cast including some Australia’s leading specialists in their field, researchers and educators.

The day began with Mr Jeff Ecker – Leading hand and upper limb reconstructive surgeon and microsurgeon who demonstrated how the most inconspicuous hand injuries can become life and limb threats if managed incorrectly resulting in surgical intervention. Jeff’s presentation was graphic and entertaining, he had everyone perplexed with his incredible knowledge of the hand.

Professor Fiona Wood of The Fiona Wood Foundation was a highlight for the HSEC team, she discussed current burns treatment, triage and mass casualty scenarios. Fiona Wood, an Australian treasure brought a wealth of information on a very relevant topic for the industry.

After lunch Professor Tony Celenza, Head of the Medical Education Unit at the University of WA, an Emergency Physician and on call doctor for the client shared his knowledge of eye injuries and the acute eye clinical presentation.

To complete the line-up of unbeatable proportions, semi-retired Professor Robert Pearce, a leading reconstructive surgeon and hand specialist who was one of the founders of the WA Melanoma Foundation spoke about skin cancer differential diagnosis, the skin as an organ and facial trauma.

Samantha was justifiably proud of the outcome: “We had nine medics and 4 management staff attend the day, a phenomenal turn out! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves … it was such an epic day! Everyone has phoned me this morning … the client has requested another development day in 2 weeks’ time and the speakers have all agreed to return!”

Remaining clinically refreshed and encouraging a culture of continuous professional development is a cornerstone of CPA Group and is reflected by the standard and enthusiasm of our elite workforce.
