Coronavirus – assisting our clients in education, preparation and advice

The coronavirus outbreak has generated a lot of international publicity and understandably workforces have questions and employers need to be prepared to address staff concerns. This can be particularly true in resource projects where large groups of personnel are residing in camps.

 CPA Group Medical Director, Dr. Scott Wilkinson, has worked in international and remote medical settings over the past 20 years.

Scott has 20 years of experience in international and remote medicine, and has extensive experience in preparation and planning strategies for viral outbreaks including experience with the SARS, swine and bird flu viruses.

He has consulted numerous global companies in developing pandemic plans and was involved in the only international medical transfer of a SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) patient during the outbreak of 2003.

As an acknowledged leader in the delivery of medical services, CPA Group has been fielding requests for information from concerned clients since the first outbreak of the virus.

As part of our service to clients, Scott presented a webinar to which all clients were invited and provided valuable information about our current understanding of the coronavirus, with tips on managing the expectations of client workforces, travel planning and managing expatriate employees.

A recording of Scott’s presentation was made available to all clients and we have fielded numerous requests for customised presentations and procedures.
