As reported recently, as a market leader in the provision of fire & rescue services, our Director – Emergency Services, Kevin Waterman, ensures he keeps up with all the latest market developments.

Our clients rely on us to be expert and current.

The 2018 AFAC (Australasian Fire Authorities Council) Fire and Emergency Management conference was this year held in Perth Western Australia. The AFAC conference is the leading fire and emergency conference held in Australia.

Along with hosting Australia’s biggest fire and emergency trade show, the conference had dozens of program sessions from the CRC Research Forum, AFAC Conference and Australian Disaster Resilience Conference. (Each year Kevin travels to the AFAC conference and the FDIC (Fire Department Instructors Conference) in the USA).

The AFAC conference gives participants the chance to network with their acquaintances, touch base with new people and learn the latest techniques and practices from fire and emergency management agencies around the world.

Kevin reports: “This year I focused my time at the conference training sessions on Firefighter Health and Wellbeing, Risk and Safety, Capability, Equipment and Fleet, Measuring and Assessing Disaster Resilience, Incident Management, and Lessons Management.

As an AFAC Registered Incident Controller, the AFAC conference also gave me the opportunity to meet my CPD (continuing professional development) activities for the year.”

As reported in April, Capital Crisis Solutions, a company licensed by AFAC to deliver the EMPS, recently conducted an audit of CPA Group’s Fire & Rescue division from which CPA Group subsequently received its Emergency Response certificate of Audit Endorsement (Tier 3) including an endorsement for LNG.
